LEONARD C. GARLITZ Leonard C. Garlitz, 59, of Salisbury, died Saturday, January 28, 1984 at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born Oct. 11, 1924, in Avilton, Md., he was a son of the late Orville Garlitz and Millia (Bardon) Garlitz. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Garlitz and Norris Garlitz. He was employed by the Hagen Dairy, Grantsville, for 27 years. From 1975 to 1981, he was self-employed as a painting contractor. In addition, he was the owner of the Garlitz Grocery and Garlitz Woodcraft, Salisbury. He was a veteran of World War II, a member and former secretary of Salisbury VFW, a former member of the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Salisbury. He is survived by his widow, Hazel R. (Showalter) Garlitz; two daughters, Mrs. Carla Beachy, Ellicott City; Mrs. Donna Schrock, Bel Air, Md., Mrs. Linda Triplett, Patrick Air Force Base, Fla.; Mrs. Lori Kemp, St. Paul; two sons, Thomas Garlitz, Salisbury, and Mark Garlitz, at home; one brother, Ellis Garlitz, Avilton; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Kemp, Sheffield Lake, Ohio; and Mrs. Inez Michael, Amherst, Ohio; eight grandchildren. Friends were received at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, where a Christian Wake service was held in the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Joseph F. Gaborek as celebrant, assisted by Father Charles A. Lutz. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery.
