FRANK E. GARLITZ Frank E. Garlitz, 84, died July 25, 1979 in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Born Dec. 29, 1894 at Salisbury, he was the son of the late Nelson and Rachel (Glotfelty) Garlitz, and was a retired employee of the Columbia Gas of Maryland. He was an Army field artillery veteran of World War I. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, and was a member of World War I Veterans, Cumberland; Old Rail Post 6025, VFW, Mt. Savage, and was past commander of Charles Kelley Post 112, American Legion, Meyersdale. He is survived by his widow, Evelyn Jane (Daugherty) Garlitz; two sons, Joseph E. Garlitz, Lebanon, Pa., and Donald F. Garlitz, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Stein, Akron, Ohio; and Mrs. William Matthews, Corriganville; one sister, Harriet Garlitz, Salisbury; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where services were conducted by Rev. James Myers. Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale. The Republic, August 2, 1979
