editors note: Connell Robeson was my father Leonard’s childhood friend and they remained friends all down the years. Dad said that Connell spent so much time at his house as a child that he might as well have been a Garlitz. And, in fact, he was a Garlitz by a couple different lines. My sister visited Connell several months before he died. He was, I suppose, feeling very sad at the time, and told her he could not wait to die so that he could once again be with Dad.
