Douglas BAKER was born on the East bank of the Conococheaque River opposite the Great Spring, 28 October 1768. He married Mary Ann Garlitz 27 April 1790 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
Together they had at least eight children:

Douglas BAKER is found in the 1790 Census of
Washington County, Maryland, the 1820 (?) Census of Sandy Creek, Allegany County,
Pennsylvania, the 1820 Census of Greenville Township, Somerset County,
Pennsylvania, and the 1830 Census of Somerset County. We do not know that
this is all the same Douglas BAKER but the number and ages of children recorded
seem to match. A history of Tuscarawas County, Ohio tells us Douglas moved
to Tuscarawas County from Greenville Township of Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
Douglas died 18 March 1850 of palsy. Mary Ann died 12 May 1852. Both are buried in the Shansville Lutheran Reformed Church Cemetery, Sugar Creek, Ohio.

Mary Ann Garlitz was born
06 April 1808 in Greenville Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania. He
married Elizabeth LINT daughter of Christian LINT and Elizabeth
LICHTEBERGER in Somerset County, 18 January 1831.
Together they had three children we know of:
Sarah born 07 October 1831, Mary (Polly) born 10 July 1833, and Alexander born
06 July 1835.
Elizabeth died 21 October 1835 and is buried in
the Shansville Lutheran Reformed Church Cemetery in Sugar Creek, Ohio.
Douglas married Elizabeth DEETZ, daughter of
Jacob DEETZ and Mary (Polly) NOELL, 26 April 1838 in Tuscarawas
County, Ohio.
Together they had at least eight children:
Jonathan born 11 August 1839, Margaret born 1841, William born 06 February 1844,
Absolom born 27 January 1847, Susan born 1850, Samuel born 04 February 1853,
Malinda born 24 December 1855, and Joshua born 16 June 1860.
Douglas is found in the 1840, 1850, 1860, and
1870 Tuscarawas County, Ohio census.
Douglas died 23 March 1885 and Elizabeth died 27
December 1906, both are buried in the Dundee Cemetery.
Jonathan BAKER, son of Douglas BAKER and
Elizabeth DEETZ was born 10 August 1839 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. He
married Sarah Ann DONEY daughter of Abraham DONEY and Ann (Anna)
Zimmerman, 22/25 July 1864 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.
Together they had nine children: David
born 25 August 1865, Patrick born 25 August 1865, Margaret born 25 September
1867, Andrew born 17 March 1869, Saloma born 25 May 1870, Timothy born 25 July
1872, Arlia born 11 March 1874, Nevada (Vada) born 23 December 1879, and Ilda
born 15 July 1883.
We have a Marriage Certificate for Jonathan
& Serah showing they were married the 22nd day of July 25th, 1864.
We find Jonathan and family in the 1870 and 1880
Tuscarawas County, Ohio Census. Sarah and some of the children are found
in the 1900 Tuscarawas County Census.
Jonathan died 27 January 1889 and Sarah Ann 05
July 1926, both are buried in the Dundee Cemetery.
